What is a Visa Approval Letter for Vietnam?
A Visa Approval Letter (VOA) for Vietnam is an official document issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department that allows travelers to obtain a visa on arrival at an international airport in Vietnam. It's different from an eVisa.
Here’s how it works:
What It Is:
- It’s a pre-approved document stating that you are allowed to receive a visa at the airport.
How It’s Used:
- Apply online
Receive the approval letter by email
Print the letter and bring it along with:
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- Passport photos (typically 4x6 cm)
- Visa application form (often provided at the airport)
- Stamping fee in cash (USD)
- Present all documents at the Visa on Arrival counter at the airport (in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, etc.).
- Receive your visa and enter the country.
Important Notes:
- This is only valid for air travel (not for land or sea entries).
- It's not a visa by itself — it allows you to get the visa upon arrival.
- It's commonly used for tourist or business visas
