Does Korea require an online arrival card?

Yes — as of February 24, 2025, South Korea has introduced an e-Arrival Card (electronic arrival declaration) system, which lets travelers submit their arrival information online in advance.

Here are the key details:

  • You can submit it starting 3 days before your arrival (i.e. within 72 hours) e-arrivalcard.go.kr+2e-arrivalcard.go.kr+2

  • Paper arrival cards will still be accepted during a transition period until December 2025. After that, only the electronic version will be accepted.

  • However, there are some exemptions, such as:

    • Korean nationals and those with valid long-term residency/registration in Korea

    • Holders of a valid K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

    • Airline crew members
