Using a Brazil eVisa Issued on an Older (Expired) Passport

Yes—your Brazil eVisa remains valid until its stated expiry date even if it was issued to a passport that has since expired.

When you travel, carry both passports:

  • the expired passport that the eVisa was issued to, and
  • your current, valid passport.

Airlines and border officers may ask to see both.

Before you travel

  • Check the eVisa expiry date. You must enter Brazil before it expires.
  • Verify your details. Your name, date of birth, and nationality on the eVisa should match your current passport.
  • Bring a copy of the eVisa. A printed copy is recommended in case you’re asked to present it.
  • If you no longer have the old passport (lost, stolen, or retained), or if your personal details have changed, apply for a new eVisa before traveling.
