I want to apply through the German consulate but might change my destination after I get the visa

If you're applying through the German consulate, it's important to understand that your Schengen visa should reflect your actual travel plans. German authorities expect that you will either enter through Germany or spend the majority of your time there, as declared in your application.

If you end up traveling elsewhere in the Schengen area without ever visiting Germany, this could raise red flags during future visa applications. It may appear that you misrepresented your itinerary, which can impact your credibility with Schengen consulates moving forward.

If there’s a strong possibility your primary destination will change, it’s best to apply through the consulate of the country where you actually plan to spend the most time. This helps avoid complications when entering the Schengen zone and ensures compliance with visa regulations.
