APEC Supports the Virtual ABTC
As of June 2025, the Virtual APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) is accepted by most APEC economies, offering a digital alternative to the physical card for eligible business travelers.
Economies Supporting the Virtual ABTC
The following 19 fully participating APEC economies support the Virtual ABTC:

These economies have integrated the Virtual ABTC into their border processing systems, allowing cardholders to use the digital card for expedited immigration procedures.
⚠️ Economies Not Supporting the Virtual ABTC
The United States and Canada are transitional members of the ABTC scheme and currently do not issue or accept the Virtual ABTC. Travelers from these economies must continue to use the physical ABTC for expedited processing in participating economies.
🔄 Transition to the Virtual ABTC

- Australia: Transitioned all cardholders to the Virtual ABTC from 1 March 2021. (apec.org)
- New Zealand: Began issuing Virtual ABTCs in August 2021 and no longer provides physical cards. (immigration.govt.nz)
