The Global Entry Interview Process
After submitting your Global Entry application and receiving conditional approval, the final step is an in-person interview with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Here's what you need to know:
📬 1. Receive Conditional Approval
Once your application is reviewed, you'll get an email notification and a status update in your TTP account stating “Conditionally Approved.”
✅ At this point, you're eligible to schedule your interview.
📅 2. Schedule Your Interview
- Log into your TTP account
- Choose a Global Entry Enrollment Center near you
- Select an available date and time
🕒 Appointments can book quickly—check back often or consider using the “Enrollment on Arrival” option if traveling soon.
🧾 3. What to Bring to Your Interview
Make sure to bring the following items:
- 🛂 Valid passport(s) (and permanent resident card, if applicable)
- 🪪 One other form of ID (e.g., driver’s license)
- 📄 Conditional approval letter (printed or digital)
- 📬 Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, lease) if requested
👶 For minors: A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child.
🛃 4. What Happens During the Interview
The interview is short—usually 10 to 15 minutes—and includes:
- ✅ Identity and document verification
- ❓ A few questions about your travel history and background
- 📷 A photo for your Global Entry ID card
- 🖐️ Fingerprint collection for biometric records
🗣️ Be honest, clear, and concise in your answers. It's a straightforward process!
📬 5. After the Interview: Final Approval
- You’ll typically receive final approval within a few days, though some may be approved immediately.
- Once approved, your Known Traveler Number (KTN) becomes active and can be used for Global Entry and TSA PreCheck benefits.
