I have nose rings. Can I have them in my picture when applying for a China visa?

When applying for a visa to China, it’s important to follow the consulate’s strict photo requirements to avoid delays or rejections. One key requirement is:

No Visible Jewelry on the Face

The China Consulate does not permit any visible facial jewelry in visa photographs. This includes:

  • Nose rings or studs
  • Eyebrow piercings
  • Facial dermal implants
  • Any other visible facial adornments

If Jewelry Cannot Be Removed

If you have facial jewelry that cannot be removed due to medical, cultural, or religious reasons, you may still be able to proceed. In such cases:

  • You may need to provide a signed statement explaining why the jewelry cannot be removed.
  • The consulate will review this statement and determine if the photo is acceptable.

We recommend submitting this explanation along with your photo to prevent processing issues.
