What is a known traveler number?
Have you heard of a Known Traveler Number (KTN)? It’s your golden ticket to breezing through airport security! 🛫✨
A KTN is a special ID number given to travelers who are approved for Trusted Traveler Programs like TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI. Once you’ve got one, just plug it into your flight reservation and—voilà!—you’re eligible for expedited screening.
With TSA PreCheck, for instance, you get to skip the long lines and keep your shoes, belt, laptop, and liquids right where they are. No more airport juggling act!
If you’ve already been approved, your KTN will be in your approval letter or in your online account. It’s usually a 9-digit number that starts with “TT".
Locating your Known Traveler Number (KTN), here are a few quick tips:
- Check your approval email or letter – When you were approved for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI, your KTN was included in the confirmation.
- Log into your Trusted Traveler Program account – Go to https://ttp.dhs.gov/ and sign in. Your KTN will be listed on your dashboard.
- Look at past flight confirmations – If you've used your KTN before, it may appear in the traveler info section of an old booking.
