What Is the Business Registration Certificate?

When applying for a Saudi business visa, one of the key required documents is a copy of the host company's business registration certificate issued in Saudi Arabia.

The host company in Saudi Arabia is responsible for providing this document. If they have already issued your MOFA invitation letter, they likely have the business registration certificate available.

This document—called the Commercial Registration (CR) or “Sijil Tijari” in Arabic—is an official license issued by the Saudi government that proves the company is legally registered and authorized to operate in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabia consulate requires this certificate to:

  • Confirm that your inviting company is legitimate and active
  • Match the company listed on your MOFA invitation letter
  • Ensure the purpose of your visit (such as meetings or training) is valid and supported by the host
  • The document must include an official stamp or QR code indicating approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

❗If the business registration certificate is missing or doesn’t match the MOFA invitation, your visa application may be delayed or denied.

The certificate should be:

  • A clear, readable copy
  • Up to date (not expired)
  • Issued by the Saudi Ministry of Commerce
  • Showing the full legal name of the company in Arabic (sometimes with English too)
