How to Obtain a Saudi Arabia MOFA Invitation Letter
If you're planning a trip to Saudi Arabia—whether for business, family, or official purposes—the process starts with obtaining an invitation letter.
Here's a guide on how it works and what you’ll need to ensure a smooth application.
Step 1: Your Host in Saudi Arabia Initiates the Process
Your invitation letter must be requested by your host in Saudi Arabia, which could be any of the following:
- A company or business organization
- A government agency
- A family member (this is solely for a tourist visa request)
Step 2: Submission Through MOFA
Your host submits the request through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) online portal.
To complete the request, they’ll need the following:
- A copy of their business license (for companies) or national ID (for individuals for a tourist visa)
- Your passport information
- A clear reason for your visit, such as a business meeting or family visit
- 💡Please ensure the applicant’s job title matches the one listed on the invitation letter.
Step 3: Invitation Letter Issuance
Once the request is approved, MOFA issues the invitation letter electronically.
The letter is sent:
- Directly to the Saudi consulate
- It must be addressed to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the applicant's consulate of jurisdiction.
- And to you, the applicant, to include in your visa application
✅ Make sure the information on your invitation letter—especially your name, passport number, and purpose of visit—matches your passport and visa application exactly.
Even a small discrepancy can cause delays or lead to your visa application being rejected.
