If I was issued a limited-validity one-year passport due to multiple lost passports, how long must I wait to reapply, and which form should I use to renew it?
If you were issued a one-year limited-validity passport because of multiple lost or stolen passports, there is no required waiting period before you can reapply for a full-validity passport. You may submit a new application at any time.
Which form should I use to reapply?
When renewing a one-year passport, you must complete Form DS-11, not DS-82. This is because limited-validity passports do not qualify for mail-in renewal and must be submitted in person.
Be sure to bring your one-year passport and all other required documentation to your appointment.
